Install ModelTVon your TV.

Your device

  1. Install Downloader

    On the TV, open the Play Store and install the free “Downloader” app.

  2. Allow installation

    Settings → Apps → Security & restrictions → Unknown sources, then turn on Downloader. On some Google TV models, first turn on developer mode: Settings → System → About, then click “Android TV OS build” 7 times.

  3. Type the address

    In Downloader, enter modeltv.app/apk and confirm. The ModelTV download starts.

  4. Install and open

    Choose “Install”, then “Open”. Downloader then offers to delete the file: accept, you no longer need it.

Menu names vary slightly between models. Downloader is a free app from a third-party developer, not affiliated with ModelTV.

Add your playlist without a keyboard.

On the TV, ModelTV shows a QR code. In ModelTV on your phone, open Settings → Playlists → TV connection and scan it: the playlist arrives encrypted, over your local network.

You can also type an M3U address or an Xtream account with the remote.

Is your TV compatible?

Compatible

  • Google TV and Android TV, Android 8 or later
  • Fire TV running Fire OS 7 or later
  • Android TV boxes, including some operator boxes
  • Phones and tablets with Android 8 or later

Not compatible

  • Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) TVs
  • Apple TV
  • Fire TV running Vega OS

TV not compatible? A Google TV or Fire TV stick plugged into HDMI does the job.

Updates

ModelTV updates from Settings → Updates. When the Google Play version is out, you will need to uninstall the APK version before installing it.
